My Jade

Welcome to Monster Munch's page real name Jade.

Jade was born on October 18th 2003, she has had a liver shunt operation and an operation on her right hind leg to remove the ball of the joint which inserts into the hip, (even when you think they are old enough they can still surprise you and do daft things like jumping of a sofa onto laminate flooring and skidding, this truamatised Jade's leg) this was all done before she was 8 months old, not once has she complained or anything. This brave little girl had to wait a couple of months for her leg operation because she needed the liver shunt operation first, she did not even whimper once with the pain in her leg all she did was raise the leg up and run on three legs, I have been amazed at how much courage this little one has, she and her Aunty Belle are the two most amazing living beings I have ever known. With permanent happy go lucky attitude this little girl is now 15 months old and training in agility, her back leg is improving through the exercise all the time and hopefully soon she will be 100% as it stands she is 98% you would not know it to look at her.

We also have given her the nickname Kamikaze as she shows no fear, everything is to be enjoyed as far as Jade is concerned.

She is really loving her agility training, Jade is now 20 months old and able to jump full height, she herself is 100% fit again and loving life, she is an amazing little girl, she was spayed in 2005 as with having the liver shunt it was a very high likely hood of her pups having the same condition, it was heart breaking as she would have made a lovely mum but I had to be sensible and at least Jade is now doing well

March 2006

Jade is now 2.5 yrs old and has continued to improve, you would never realise she has had two serious operations, and her leg doesn't bother her at all except for when shes tired or gets distracted when jumping she will drop her leg slighty so I have to remember to keep my mouth shut sometimes...its hard...lol. It is now March 2006 and I am sending all her competition entries off for the summer

What a cracking year so far, Jade got her first Clear Round Rosette at Chippenham on the 19th March, thanks to all at Chippenham we had a brilliant day, you will always be remembered as Jade's first Rossette bearing show. Everyone was really nice and we had a grand time.

April 1st 2006,

Wye Valley D.T.C. show, Yippee!!!! Jade got her first placing, she got a 6th Place Rossette in Starters Small Jumping, we had a cracking day, I am still s emotional about how well she did. We were slower than normal even tough we had a clear round we had time faults but with only having run on grass twice before in Spetember 2005 Jade and I were a bit on the cautious side as we don't want anymore damage to her leg, but she was such a good girl, not used to having all open sides we only really had one spaced out moment, you know when they stop look around as if they are high and then look at you as if to say were we doing something, but that only lasted a couple of seconds and she was well and truly with her mum from then on. So Wye Valley you enter my favourites book as being the first to place my Baby and that is a tremendously important moment in my life and will long be remembered as will you all at the club for giving me and Jade a fantastic day out, everyone was helpful and friendly and I can not wait to book in for 2007, watch out I will be there, so will Jade unfortunately Opal can not compete until 5th April 2007...hint hint....lol.

Our main problem seems to be I get nervous and Jade gets distracted as its all so new, I just wish people with other dogs would not site right on the edge of the ring, I know its moaning and I should have more control over my dog but when people sit right on the edge of the ring with 2 yorkshire terriers, my Jade just wants to look to see what they are up to, it doesn't help when its right by the weaves and we have not complete cracked them.

The only other problem we have is the size of the rings, I think Jade looks at them and thinks "I better pace myself I running a marathon here" they look even bigger than they are, tiring to an overweight newby like myself.

Naughty me, not keeping Jade web page up to date but we have been so busy, 2006 Jade has had numerous clear rounds and loads in time now, she has also had 2 x 5th Place rosettes and 3 x 6th place rosettes not bad for a little girl with no right hip joint and dysplesia in her left hip, she is my hero and angel, I just love her to bits.

Now we are into 2007 went to Ribble on 20th Jan, fab day Jade was just the most special girl for her Mum and first show of the year and she gets a 6th Place rosette in grade 1-4 Jumping, and shes a grade 1 girl. Many thanks to Nigel and Emma, Judge and Scribe, Nigel you could not have designed a better course we both loved it, as you can tell because Jade ran.

This is going to be an exciting year for Jade and Opal I hope that they enjoy themselves, I am sure they will as they certainly did last year.

Now put a note in your diary 19th May Ribble me and Jade are sponsoring a class in Memory of Belle, Smalls of course so lets have some fun and there will be a trophy for Best Westie, and I know Jade is the Best but she is standing aside for this one.

18th Feb 2007, my thanks to Brenda Tenton and all at NAWS the Judges and helpers, brilliant day Jade wit clear round and fastest ever time in jumping and agility, I needed oxygen to keep up with her, Opal had her first go in the ring Ahhhhhh she was ever so good not with the equipment but she did not run off she stayed with her Mum and listened, so had a brill go at the jumping, the agility well enough sid...hehehe went to pot think my little girl got a wee bit stressed and panicky, but she stayed with me and was a very good girl. We will see you on the 18th March.

Hey what a brilliant day at the Newton Heath show on 24th Feb 2007, Jade got placed in the Agility Small grade 1-2 combined, 2nd fastest time in the group but the little munster missed her dog walk contact, she still got a 6th place rosette and with that speed from my Jade I forgive her, but she has only ever missed a couple of contacts since she started...sob but hey never mind this bodes well for a fantastic year for her, 2 KC shows and 2 placings so far. A special thanks to Clive Foden for a superb course much appreciated, we did enjoy running it.

SHE DID IT, Jade got her 1st place in Agility at Wye Valley on 31st March, her last day competing alone, I am so proud of her, Wye will always be special and lucky for us as she had her first placing a 6th at Wye last year and now her first 1st at Wye, can not wait to see what she does next year at Wye but that will be even more fun as Opal is now old enough to compete and they will be going for the Brace, that should be a laugh.

Hold on a sec, let me get my bum over...lol

Well Jade just keeps on going, Shrewsbury 2007 she got 3rd place in Grade 1 Agility, she's a brilliant little girl for her Mum.
