Fluffy White Doggie Land

Come Play

Hello my name is Kim, I live with my Cat Lucky, and my West Highland White Terrier, Jade and my Japanese Spitz Opal. I did have another cat Garfield who unfortunately passed away Easter 2004 but he will always be a part of our family. Also Belle who is the reason I started this website she was my first Angel, A westie who had that something special, read on I have left everything as I originally wrote it expect for this paragragh. Who passed to heaven 2005.

A very fortunate family really, whilst Garfield enjoyed a healthy life until the final few months and Lucky is still enjoying his senior years he is now 14 yrs old, Belle and Jade have not been so fortunate.

I am posting this web site up to encourage people who find they are in the same situation as I am now and have been for the last 3 years, Belle was diagnosed in April 2002. It has been a living hell at times, not knowing if when I wake up the next morning wether Belle will wake up or not.

Westies make great agility dogs and they love it, forget the pampering and preening for a show ring Belle will tell you its more fun running and jumping than have chalk and stuff rubbed in your fur and then having to look like a stuffed manikin, my girls definitely prefer rolling in the mud than having their hair done, and Jade agrees, give her tunnels to fly through and mud to dig up and she is in heaven.

Baby Belle

Belle's illness has been more complicated but let me give you some background, 12 liver shunts, cirrhosis of the liver. Belle is 4 years old in September 2005, if we get there, she is not well now but she loves life so much, give her a cuddle and a fuss and of course a nice lamb dinner and she is a happy little angel. Belle passed away on the 26th July 2005, she will be sorely missed and always loved.

Jade's treatment has been relatively easy, she only had one shunt and her specialist was able to but a ring around it and several months later her bile acids are back to normal, she is running around like a steam engine only stopping for cuddles and dinner, but we will come back to Jade. Thankfully Jade's breeder recognised the problem and has changed her breeding regime and no longer is there chance of Jades problem repeating. I shall be getting all my future dogs from this breeder because finally there is a breeder who can be trusted.

Welcome to our newest addition Oparu Hosi "Opal Star" I decided that after the pain and pleasure of Westies, I could not have another westie at this time Belle was just to special and my Jade is one in a million so we have a Japanese Spitz called Opal who is just amazing, she is bright and intelligent, sometimes to intelligent for her own good, she has already learnt how to twist me round her paw.
